Default How hard has it been in your experience

to book at the 7 month mark in a different resort?

    Specifically Bay Lake Tower?

Im guessing during the high season its impossible, but how about the adventure or dream seasons?

    Thank you!

I personally never been able to book BLT at 7 months but does not bother me because I have always been able to book at other resorts.. Whether it works for you or not depends on when you want to go and there is always the wait list. Many (me included) have had good luck with the wait list .

A friend of mine from these boards had success at the 7 month window booking BLT for the last week of October this year. So it's definitely possible. I hope more folks read this and post their own success stories.

Old Key West was pretty simple for me. I booked right at the 7-month mark and got what I needed no problem. Some of the more popular DVC resorts are a bit tougher from what I've heard, especially Bay Lake Tower.

Im guessing being so close to MK makes it more desirable

It's hard to comment on seasons because the seasons really don't correspond to member demand anymore. Adventure seasons includes all of January, September and the first two weeks of December. Those two weeks in Dec have some of the highest demand among members. Meanwhile September is still extremely slow and January varies (very popular around marathon and MKL holiday, slow other times.)

In general, I believe the slower periods right now are:
    * Late January - mid February
    * Late April (after Easter) to late May
    * Late August through September
    * Couple weeks in mid November (after election day, before Thanksgiving)

In my experiences, those are the times where greatest availability can be found at 7 months.

Studio villas tend to fill up first follow by Two Bedroom and then One Bedroom. And if there are multiple views available at a resort, expect owners to book the better views and cheaper views first.

I know it's hard to put all of the pieces together but those are the components you're working with.

If you hope to get a Bay Lake Tower Studio in early December with a Standard or Theme Park view, I think your chances are extremely small. Even the Lake View and larger rooms will be difficult at that time due to such high demand.

However, a BLT Lake View One Bedroom during September will be MUCH easier. (To satisfy my curiosity, I just looked and there are still many nights available now at BLT for September '12--less than 5 months out--which match the above.)

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

Last year we were able to book BLT lake view for May at 7 months. {well I guess booked in 2010 for May 2011}.

I also was able to get BLT theme park view for this May at 7 months.

    They were both for studios.

Yes!! I just booked 6 nights at BLT last week and only 3 nights were available. I waitlisted the other 3 and had three at WL. Well today we were advised that all 6 nights are ours!!

We have a lake view one bedroom from December 21 thru the 27th!!

    Default waitlist woes

It is encouraging to hear others getting notified that their waitlist has come through. At 7 months, I was unsuccessful to book at BLT so I'm on a waitlist. I am now reading that the first 2 weeks in December are high volume at WDW for DVC. So now I know not to choose that time again. At least I do have ressies at SSR so I'll be at WDW for the holiday season, even if it's not BLT.
