We had been thinking about adding on some points and we were glad we went in person to see our guide on Sat at the DLR. The incentive included not only the GC but two Annual passes in the bracket that we purchased!!

I thought the $500 cash card was a nice incentive but hannahbelle's was pretty nice. I'm not sure what the value of a DLR AP is but sounds good.

It was a sweet deal. Annual Premium Passes are almost $500.00 in Cali and we got 2. We wont get them until we have made several payments but they don't expire until sometime in 2014 so technically we could a. let our passes expire (in May) and renew when we get the vouchers (as long as I get them before our Sept trip that is) or b. just wait and use them for our 2014 renewal. So basically it was like a $1500.00 signing bonus.

is it just us? –

I'm extremely excited for the people who got the gift card and the annual passes. Way to go!
We've been members since 2005. We've added on four times and now have over 500 points. Our last add on was to Saratoga when we were down in Florida earlier in March. We got no special pricing, no incentives, no gifts.
This has happened to us every single time we've added on. My husband's cousin got 6 cruises free when she bought points. We got a canvas tote bag.
Has anyone else out there fell into this pattern? We love our DVC membership, and we visit Disney two or three times a year from New England, but it's really starting to feel like we're second class DVC citizens.

Incentives vary from property-to-property; it depends upon the resort you add and the number of points.
About 6-8 months ago DVC eliminated all incentives on Saratoga Springs points and just went with a flat low price. If you just bought in March, I'm assuming you paid $105 per point. During that same period the lowest price you could have obtained on an add-on of about 100 points at Animal Kingdom Villas was $115 per point. That's the base price of $125 less a $10 discount.
Even if you had purchased AKV during this incentive and received the $500 gift card with 100 points, that only knocks another $5 per point off of the final price. That brings you down to a net $110 vs. the $105 you paid.
If you're ever in the market for another add-on, ask your sales rep for the incentives available on all of the different resorts. Maybe you'll find something that's more to your liking. But it would be wise to look beyond the incentives and consider the final, out-the-door price. They may offer gift cards, APs and cruises with certain resorts or high-volume add-ons, but if the price is much higher it may not be worth the added expense.
Congrats on your add-on and welcome to the site!
