Just as Disney Vacation Club was preparing to kick-off sales at one of its most prestigous locations, rumors started pointing toward another cherished destination.

Points are now available for sale at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa--inarguably the most luxurious accommodations Disney Vacation Club has ever created. *Yet rumors suggest another fan favorite--Disney's Polynesian Resort--is the next to see a DVC villa addition. * ****
Over the next 90 days I will plan how i intend to do this as I want to spend a hour in each pool, and yes even the small little pools like the ones at Saratoga and such will be included ( I like the small one there, i like the statues that spit on you lol)

As we've done many times, I called MS this morning to see about a studio at HHI on members cash for the Saturday nite before Thanksgiving. Only this time the CM quoted me a price that was 60% higher than last year. I'd checked the Disney site and found a rate $34 less. So I asked her-is this members cash? Hilton Head? The Saturday before Thanksgiving? We've done this many times and always paid less than $100 for a studio that nite-not $157! She couldn't explain the difference, so I have a call in to a manager. On the other hand, I also asked her about the Friday nite after Thanksgiving, and she quoted me about 2/3 of the price on the website. I should have taken that one!

Arriving at a Disney Vacation Club resort seems pretty straighforward but there are many different philosophies owners adopt in order to maximize the value of their points.

Some choose to fly or drive into town early in the day and check in as soon as possible, often hoping a room will be immediately available. *Some arrive later and really don't fret over the limited amount of time the villa is used that first night. *Some will stay in alternatie lodging (Disney Value resort, off-site, etc.) on an arrival day so that they don't waste time (and points) on a day with limited villa access. *****

Topic: Generally speaking, how do you handle the arrival day on a Disney Vacation Club trip?

Three years ago Disney Vacation Club introduced a Guaranteed Week purchase option at Aulani and it has since been duplicated at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. *

The Guaranteed Week option allows buyers to lock-in a specific timeshare week, villa size and view by purchasing approximately 10% more points than they would otherwise need. *With the Guaranteed Week, owners no longer have to deal with the risk and hassles involved in making a reservation at 11 months. *The room is automatically booked for the week purchased, but owners still have the ability to "opt-out" of the Guaranteed Week if they wish to use their points in a different manner. ****

Topic: If a Guaranteed Week had been offered at other (older) Disney Vacation Club resorts, would you have considered it?
Hotels and timeshares often tweak and adjust their room setups to meet changing customer tastes. *A decade ago refrigerators and microwaves were luxuries. *Today they can be found in even moderately-priced accommodations.

Today some of the more luxurious offerings include fitness equipment, DVRs, large flat-panel TVs, Keurig coffee makers and more. *Disney Vacation Club chose to include rice cookers among the in-room amenities at the Aulani villas. *Most newer DVC villas feature an additional bathroom. *

Topic: Is there some in-room feature or amenity that you would like to see DVC add to its villas?
