E & I are looking into visiting Disneyland Paris for the first time next year. We live in the US and I've read things on some sights like MouseSavers about booking UK marketed packages through a UK travel agent. (BTW, I don't plan to use DVC points at all; I need to hoard those for my US trip addiction! :silly:)

Has anyone here actually attempted that and if so, how did it work out? How long ago did you do it? Who did you use?

There is a deal I'm interested in (next paragraph) that I found on DLP's UK site but I can't book it directly. May 2014 isn't available for booking on Expedia.co.uk yet at all, and DLP's US site doesn't have any availability that far in the future yet either.

However, I found a company named Travel Empire that says they can book me the early booking 2 days & 2 nights free deal I found. I said when I when requested a quote that I live in the US and they didn't seem to bat an eye at that. Their total cost is £1266 (British Pounds) for 2 adults, 4 nights @ Disneyland Hotel and 5 day park passes (arriving Sunday 11th May 2014); One classic room with two double beds, Breakfast included.

Has anyone ever heard of or know someone who used that agency? Does that sound like a good deal? At current exchange rates and after a 2.5% credit card surcharge it looks to be a little under $2k USD...

On some of those days we may take the train into Paris for part of the day; I'm told DLP is a 2 or maybe 3 day max Disney destination. I'm skeptical and think I could spend a week easy in ANY Disney park, but I'm never been to France and will admit there are some non-Mouse things even I'd like to see while in Europe. FYI, after the Disney part of the trip we plan to spend a few nights in/around Paris then head to London for several nights and finally fly home after a 2 week long international adventure that ISN'T in World Showcase!

Any advice people may have is greatly appreciated!

So, we are leaving soon on the 2nd of 3 WDW trips planned for the year. (Though we are starting to get scared of the New Years trip, so maybe only 2)...so of course that means we are planning the rest of 2014 now...:)

we're thinking (a dangerous pastime I know) that instead of multiple trips to the mouse next year, we do one big one in early June and just go someplace else at the holidays and/or spring break. Vacation times during the school year are non-negotiable since Mr Mac is a teacher.

So, since DD, 3.5 yo LOVES animals and is starting to really dig sea turtles (mommy showing her VB turtle cams may have helped), we were considering a split stay with somedays at VB on the back end of the June 2014 trip. She'll be 4.5 yo then, DS will be 3.

What are the 1 bd views like - is it worth splurging for a GV? Are the Beach cottages actually on the beach? Is DS just too young? I have ZERO qualms about DD, she's been an animal nut since her first stay at AKL and listens well and really enjoys learning about animals AND has been begging for a beach vaca for several months (why daddy agrees to a sunny beach vaca when she asks but says "Normandy!" To me is just not fair)...but DS is my lil wild man. He loves animals but not to the degree that his sister ever has (tho he is far more tolerant of bloodhound drool and pug goo than she).

currently only have ~300 pts remaining for 2014, but would likely plan to rent points for VB anyway just for 11 mo window. Thoughts?

Meant to post this a while back...

During a recent visit to HHI we learned that three units were offline and each had been redecorated with entirely new theming. Apparantly, the three new themes being considered are rather radical departures from the hunting lodge theme. No mention of when, or even if, one of these new themes would be implemented. But it was all being run out of Orlando, and various Imagineering teams have been in and out to access the changes.

Stay tuned!
