Earl of Sandwich is finally coming to Disneyland's Downtown Disney!!!!! Early summer 2012.
Great news!!
Except this will hurt my excuse for taking frequent roadtrips to Vegas, because there's an Earl there at Planet Hollywood Casino.
Oh well, I'm sure I can come up with some other excuse.

With so many walking distance, off site dinning options available (ToGo's or Schlotzkys) do you think a sandwich shop will really be a hit ? In the short term, yes. But with the majority of DLR guests being local AP holders, what does the long term look like ?

It'll be a monster!!!! Cheap eats on the way in and out of the parks, cmon!!!
Plus it's right next to the busiest movie theatre in Orange County.

Planet Hollywood in Vegas caters to a LA/Orange County type crowd. They advertise heavily to the local Southern California market. And the Earl of Sandwich in there is packed morning, noon and night. Lines out the door.

My wife was in Vegas with friends two weeks ago and she texted me a picture of an Earl's Sandwich to make me jealous.
Her and her 5 friends had all driven over to Planet Hollywood from the Luxor just to visit Earl.

It'll be hugely popular and end up saving me money because I'll be eating one less sit down meal on every Anaheim trip from now on.:eating:

It is worth noting that the majority of visitors to Disneyland are no longer annual passholders. Or at the very least you can say that the margin is shifting. The demographic has slowly but surely been changing over the last years as additions have been made almost non stop, paired with more aggressive marketing in new areas. This will be even more true come summer than in years past. Disneyland does have higher regional visitation because of the population within driving distance, that is true.

People want good food, regardless if they drove 30 minutes or flew in for a Disneyland visit. It should be a huge hit.

Looks like we will miss it for our May trip but for sure on our November trip. Looking forward to trying it out. Hopefully they will still have the French Dip sandwich when we go :eating:
