Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

12/08/2010

Wednesday, Dec. 8 was a day to remember for guests and cast members at Disneyland Paris. More than 10 centimetres (3.9 inches) of snow fell on Europe’s No. 1 destination in only a few hours. This unexpected guest not only caused disruptions to the resort’s operations, but it also affected transportation and services in the local area. Despite the exceptional weather, cast members continued to offer guests a warm welcome.

Do you mean kewl or cool? ;) Wonder if they'd temporarily change the Jungle Cruise from "backside of water" to "backside of icicles"... :scratchchin:

My friend and I got frost when we were at DLRP in November a few years ago, but nothing like that snow from today! Had to have been neat, and yet at the same time a bummer.

I wonder how many attractions shut down operations in the snow...

Have they had a noticeable accumulation like that there before? The pics are indeed neat at any rate!

Edit: I checked back and reread the DPB article I skimmed on Dec. 3rd. So clearly they have had accumulation, but I wasn't sure if they had a lot of it and all of a sudden.

So do they shovel much around there and what is typical snowfall? I suppose I could start Googling but firsthand reports are more interesting!

Wow, if you were there during that snowstorm, you'd have some unique photos for many years to come. It looks like a winter wonderland. The only problem I would see since many of the rides were closed, it'd be my luck that was the only day were were at DLP. :sideways:

Thanks for sharing Doombuggy.

Mar, if he were there it probably would have been 3 feet of snow, not 3 inches! ;)
