That sounds amazing, especially the Dream Suite tour! I wish I could go. :boohoohoo: Oh well, maybe someday...

I would love to do this, but alas, we leave the day before it starts:rolleyes: And it's waaaayyy out of the budget, maybe another time.

We arrive the last day the 12th - so we are not going to be able to do it either - sounds great though

Okay, now I'm seriously thinking about cancelling sunset safari and doing this instead...only problem, I'm not a D23 member! Too bad I already have my MVMCP tickets...maybe I could sell them?

I don't think the silver level (no magazine) D23 membership was all that expensive [$35?]; so you might considering jumping and buying a membership now. I don't remember if you get your number immediately after you join; I think you have to wait until you get your card in the mail, and you may need that to buy tickets... Then again, if you can buy them online it might be OK because your membership gets tied to your log in you used on the Disney Store to buy it. :scratchchin:

DG-I'm ready to jump! Sunset Safari was $170pp plus tax, so this is really not that much more. We were super impressed by the French Regional Lunch we went to during our recent trip, so I can only imagine this would be like! I've already sent DH like four emails about it, so I'm guessing i'll be D23 before the clock strikes midnight...:D

Just put my D23 membership through (couldn't get it to process last night). DH is a little sad about missing the sunset safari, but I promised we would do it another time. This is just too awesome to pass up since it's exactly our dates!

I am so upset about this. I was on the D23 website at 12.50pm (tickets went on sale at 1pm) refreshing every minute or so until 1pm, when I started refreshing constantly. The link showed up for me at about 1.03pm, I clicked on it IMMEDIATELY and was taken to a page that said "event sold out." I know I'm whining, but I feel jipped. The tickets were gone before I even had a chance to buy. How is that right?

The response I got from D23:
Dear D23 Member,
We thank you for your interest in the D23 Member exclusive events. We have verified that the link was posted promptly at 10am PST. We cannot in any way verify what a time a personal computer shows. The event is sold out. Only 200 tickets were available for this event. While we would have loved to expand capacity, certain venues (Cinderella Castle Suite Tours, the Odyssey Center and Top of the World Lounge, specifically) have space limitations. And while we would love to offer the event multiple times throughout the month of December, that is not possible. (We are offering larger capacity events with “Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary Celebration” and “D23’s Great Disney Scavenger Hunt at Walt Disney World” next May.)
Sincerely,
Experient's D23 Event Team
I guess if each member was able to buy up to 4 tickets, it's possible only 50 people got through. Still dissapointing though.

The event reportedly sold out in twenty seconds.

If an event is going to sell out that fast, wouldn't it be more fair for them to do a lottery or something? I was literally at my computer refreshing and didn't get through. But I would have been more than happy to enter a lottery to see who got the tickets.
Again sorry to whine, it's just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Oh, Beth, that stinks:mad: Don't worry about feeling you're whining, any of us would in that situation..I am a D23 member too, and I would feel the exact same way. They need a better system.

At least I hadn't cancelled my dinner reservations, Christmas Party, and sunset safari reservations for the rest of the trip. Then I really would have been upset :(

Oh, thank heavens, Beth! That would've been a bummer:(
I think if D23 is going to limit these things to 200 tix, then they need to limit how many people the D23 member can bring. They are allowed to bring 3 people w/them, of course it's gonna sell out fast:rolleyes: They need to allow them to only bring 1 person.

I agree. It sounds like this process was a lottery, because your chances of winning had similar odds...:(
Oh, and look, they also got another person to fork out the cash to join D23. The Mouse can be sneaky...

Why wouldn't it be a members only event since it was for so few people? One member number one ticket. They could allow couples to enter both member numbers on one order.

I think that would be a good idea for these super exclusive events. I would have made both DH and I members for that.
I also think I wouldn't have been so dissapointed if I had known what a small event it was in advance. If there had been something in the write up about "there are an extremely small number of tickets available for this event". It's no secret for most other exclusive events (F&W, tours, etc) that the number is very limited.
