New pool towel policy at Vero

Upcoming guests at Disney's Vero Beach Resort will find new, more plush pool towels at the resort, along with a new procedure for obtaining and replacing the towels.

HHI started this program a few years ago and it works very well. ALOT less waste! ALOT less expensive.

Rumor has it, some people used to grab 4 towels as they walked to the beach in the morning. Discard those and grab 4 more at lunch time to sit by the pool. Toss those and grab 4 more to head back to the beach. Toss those at the end of the day and grab 4 more to sit on in the car beacuse the seats were hot. (not sure who these wasteful people were :ermm: )

Anywa with the new system you are much more careful about just grabbing a towel and discarding it after one use. It's just as easy to throw them in the washer / dryer yourself at the end of the day anyway. Plus if you really want a fresh towel, they will gladly swap out the one you have. Or if you forget one in the villa, you can easily get one from the recreation desk.

It's a great system. Much more earth-friendly. And just cuts out all that wastefulness. Glad to hear VB joined the program.

We were at Vero last week and the towels are great.

One of the big benefits I see with this is a lot less "reserved" chairs at the pool. It seems many chairs are covered with pool towels left to reserve the chairs or by folks too lazy to place the towels in the used towel bin.

This will cut down on reserved chairs and the often messy look around the pool at the slight loss of convenience for the guest.
