DW and I just returned from a quick getaway to my hometown of San Francisco for 3 nights.
While officially we went to visit my sister, the recent opening of the Walt Disney Family Museum played a big part in our decision to go.
I won't give a full review(there's plenty online), but I will say that hard core Disney fans certainly won't be disapointed if you make the trek to see it.
It's amazing, interactive and fun. As you move from display to display, you actually hear Walt's voice telling you his story.
What a joy that was!
The final portion of the museum is the part that really blew me away. It focused on Disneyland and his plans for Disney World.
Heaven for Disney Park freaks like me!!!:love30::love30::love30:
We spent about 3 hours in the museum, but I could have been there all day.
(Mrs. Fanatic isn't quite, well, as Fanatical as me........ but she loved it too!)
A major bonus is the location of the museum in the Presidio section of San Francisco. Just behind the museum are some of the best views of the Golden Gate bridge you'll find.(With several benches available to sit and soak up the scene)
Our hotel (Buena Vista Motor inn) on Lombard street was about a 40 minute walk to the museum, and a 25 minute walk to Fisherman's wharf. Great location! And a $65 internet rate to boot. (There's actually a ton of inexpensive hotels on Lombard street that would work well)
That's it.
Just wanted to let anybody that's thinking about heading to SF know that the museum is worth it for sure!!
