I actually have this booked for next year. I CAN NOT WAIT! :yahoo: I hope I get the one facing the park and not the one facing the pool!

Dizfan - we've got one booked for Jan and I'm debating the view right now....

Here's what I've heard...
There is so much construction going on in DCA that the theme park view isn't quite as special as it will be. Very close to the resort - there is a lot torn up (I think to build the little Mermaid ride). Now - Paradise Bay will be completely filled in a month or so, so that will look better than the empty concrete it was, but still - there will be construction stuff right in front of the villas, and work going on right off the balconies. It's hard to tell how close it is in the pictures - but it looked close enough that the construction noise will be annoying if you enjoy sitting outside - at least during the day.

As for the pool view - and I can't remember where I heard this or how accurate it is.... supposedly you can see quite a lot of the fireworks from D-Land, and they do pipe the music into the rooms at the right time.
I think until the construction is done - the pool view might, might, might be worth considerring. With the GV's on the 4th and 5th floors, there should be decent views over the pool areas, possibly some view of the GRR area of DCA and maybe the top of the Mattrehorn.

I'm watching the DCA construction develop on blog kept up by Disneygeek, but I do wish there were recent pictures of the views from the Grand Villas! I don't know if I can post the link - but it's that user name with .com at the end if you want to browse the construction photos.

Get the theme park view!

I attended the Cast Member tours and the view was amazing! By January, the lagoon will be refilled so it will be even better. Plus the nighttime lights from Paradise Pier are great.

The pool view was nice, but they are just pools. Your view of the fireworks will be obstructed by the original hotel structure, only the highest shells would be viewable.

When I stay there World Of Color will already be going, so that's even more of a reason to stay at the theme park view room.

Oh awesome! Good to know - I was really concerned about the construction. OK - well - time to go try to bribe some CM's at the check in desk ;)
