Website MouseSavers.com (http://www.mousesavers.com) claims its sources are hinting toward a Walt Disney World ticket price increase goingo into effect on August 2, 2009. Disney typically does not provide any advance notice for price increases and second-hand confirmation is usually available only 2-3 days before the new prices take effect. DVCNews will continue to monitor these rumors and provide updates as new information becomes available.
Disney Vacation Club members can purchase discounted Annual Pass vouchers from DVCMember.com (http://www.dvcmember.com). Voucher purchases will be billed the current rate at the time of purchase. Individuals looking for discounted Magic Your Way passes are encouraged to check out the prices at DVCNews.com sponsor Orlando Fun Tickets (http://www.orlandofuntickets.com).

Can you renew Annual Passes now at the current rate even though my passes don't expire until November?

Well, I bought my tickets shortly after I posted. I was originally going to wait and get them when I checked in, but I don't want to gamble on how big the increase will be.
I don't know about the ap renewal. Good question though! Curious as to what the answer is. I always wondered how that worked.

Maybe someone with more AP experience can confirm this, but I think you can only renew up to a month before expiration.

I would think you could order the DVC AP on-line since you just get a voucher and activate it later.

There is no such thing as a voucher for AP renewals. Vouchers are only for the purchase of actual AP's, not to renew them.

My annual pass expires on October 28, 2009, but I was able to renew it today, July 28, 2009 using the passholder section of the website. I even got a confirmation number.

You can use the Will Call option and not pay for postage and handling.

Is this still just rumor or fact now?? If it is a fact, what are the % increases?

I don't know if its fact or rumor yet. I thought I read somewhere that if it goes up, its like 3% . I could be wrong, I am sure someone out there can correct me.

I think that whatever % they raise ticket prices, that same percentage should raise their stock. I vote for a 100% increase!!!:rotfl2:

Well, I ordered an 8 day hopper for my friend coming over from Germany, just in case the prices do go up.

I'm not going to wait this one out any longer. I think I'll renew tonight or tomorrow before the new prices go into effect. If they don't then that's ok, too. I need to buy tickets anyway.

I had bought a renewal pass for my AP last year and when we got there and redeemed them we were told that we had to pay the difference of the price increase! but ofcourse we bought them and held onto them until we went that they expired halfway through the trip!
