Haven't bought yet.
Just met with a guide yesterday at VGC.
They had a $22 discount price so it would be $90 per point.

We were staying at the hotel and I usually write off the hotel cost because of the conference I attend there.

I called my CPA about timeshare ownership and if I can write off the cost if I own VGC while I am attending the conference.

He said it would be easier to write off if it was not a deeded property and fractional ownership.
So is DVC deeded property and do we have fractional ownership?

He did say that the yearly maintenence fee would be easy to write off.
We live in Souther California.

Anyone have experience with tax write off while staying at a DVC.
Such as attending a conference or doing some type of business?

Thanks in advance

I know you can write off the property taxes and the interest if you finance, just like a regular mortgage. Maintenance and association fees I am not sure about.

DVC is deeded and we do have fractional ownership. I c:(an't tell you about trying to use it as a write off.

I have heard of people writing off the timeshare use if it was used for business, but you might want to consult an accountant.

Here are some links about your question.
