I am looking into purchasing a DVC membership at the Villa's at GCH and could use any advice on how to get the best price. I do not understand the current incentives that I read on this site. I currently do not know anyone who is a DVC member.

We are looking into purchasing 320 - 350 points.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Have you contacted DVC yet for information or to ask any questions? If so then you probably already have a guide assigned to you. If not, then any of us can provide a referral to you.

I have already spoken to a dvc rep.

I believe the best way for you to go is to start the paperwork before June 15th - the incentives end there. If you already have a guide, it's too late for any sort of referral (I don't even know if they are doing that anymore).
The best deal you can get is to take all of the cash incentives. According to our guide, the cruise just isn't worth it right now....

Here's the one I think is the best deal. This is my personal opinion, but we researched it a lot for our own add-n there...

Special Offer #2: $112 base price less $8.00 promotional discount. Additional discount available depending upon number of points purchased:
160 - 199 points = extra $6 off ($14 total discount)
200+ points = extra $8 off ($16 total discount)

You would end up paying $96 a point since you are buying more than 200 points. With no resales at that resort yet (it's just too new) this is the best deal you can get at the VGC.
I recommend splitting the points into a few smaller contracts (for 320 points perhaps you could split into 4-80 point contracts). They would all have the same use-year, and managing the points wouldn't be any different, but if you ever decide to sell, you can sell only a portion of your points. Smaller contracts are also easier to sell. If you buy one large contract - you can't split it up later.

Thank you so much for your help. I greatly appreciate it. So our guide has mentioned the first $8 off then an additional $6 off. For a total off of $14 per point. How do I get the extra $2 off. Yes my husban really wants that extra $2 off. We are looking at the GCV. Maybe this extra $2 off is for another resort?

Thanks so much for your help.

Surena-

Make sure your Guide knows you are talking about more than 200 pts. Many people will initially buy the minimum of 160 and perhaps your Guide took that as a given?

GOOD LUCK -- hope you hear "welcome home" very soon.

I talked to my DVC sales rep on Friday, June 12th and he quoted be the information below. It is also the same information I received on the webcast on Saturday, June 13th.

But according to my sales rep June 13th at 4:30 PM it was ending. The new discount is only $5.

I have been a member since 2004 and just made our third add on.
:yahoo:

Discounts on Point until June 13th 100 - 159pts = $98160-199pts = $96200-269pts = $94270-319pts = $92320-499pts = $91500+ = $89
