I purchased a small add-on contract.

I was given an additional member number and an additional contract number.

I was also given the password to add this add-on to my online account.

OK.....here comes the problem I am having. Members services CM told me to log on as if I am a new member with no account, but use my existing name and password... then add the new information to the account.
When I do this red print that states "user name taken, choose another" shows up.

What is the real way to add this new contract to my account?

I can understand having a separate contract number, but why the new (second) member number?
CM at members service told me this is how it is supposed to be.

Thanks for any help.

Oh, I have no idea but I would like to know how this works also for the future when I add-on more points!

Try logging on and create a completely new account. It's a pain, but it might work. Both my contracts show, but they were purchased before the web sites opened. Worse case, a user name is used.

Good Luck!!

OK......

I spoke with Member Services again today and was told I need to set up a new username with the new membership number and contract.

That doesn't sound right to me. It sounds cumbersome and unnecessary. Now I'll have to keep 2 usernames and log in and out to view the 2 resorts' contracts.

Is it normal to get a new number and contract if it is an add-on?

Shell,

I have 2 completely separate memberships with 4 contracts. I can use 1 log in to see both. I'm wondering if they were saying you can't amend your old account, but if you create a new one, you can add both to it?

BTW, I never had to do squat. When we bought the separate contract with separate membership number, that info just appeared on screen with the other info. :covermouth: But this was a few years ago...

I think it just becomes harder and harder with new services!

Not sure it matters -- but are they different use years?

I agree with you -- doesn't seem like it should be that difficult.

We added on through DVC and the points were in my account the next day -- same everything -- contracts that I added had a .1, .2, .3 on the end.

Good luck.

In my case, they are different use years.

Something tells me your right. Create a new account and they both will appear.

Just added on a few days ago - and logged in to my old account - everything showed up there without any tinkering.....
We have a a different use-year on the new points - so same situation, new member ID and contract #'s.
However - I did recieve "new log-in" info with my paperwork... not sure why :oweye:

My "new" smaller contract is.....

.....in a different resort (BWV, original was BLT).

.....a different use year.

.....purchased through resale company, not direct from DVC.

Possibly one or a number of these factors combined makes it not possible to link them.

I made the new account/login so I have a completely different login name with the new contract.

The title/closing company told me she sent my current membership number with the paperwork, but maybe it was lost in the shuffle.... and they didn't realize I was a member already.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations and answers.:confused24:

Same.
Same.
Same.

But, my resale company made sure it knew if I was an existing member and then titled everything the exact same way as the first contract. Perhaps there's something else in the paperwork we don't see where they indicate existing membership?

And, yeah, I have two member cards with two different numbers. That's just how their system works with master contracts.

Sorrry this isn't working simply for you!

Nono - It's really no big deal. I just wanted it neat and tidy, together under the membership.

I don't mind that they are separate, just figured there must be a way to combine them.

Thanks for all the advice.:thumbsup2:
