Those buying a pass between May 1 and July 31, 2009 will receive 10% off the regular price (or DVC-discounted price!), and the current passholder providing the coupon will receive a $25 gift card for each pass purchased.

I actually just got off the phone with the AP Ticket Specialists because I am still having issues with getting my AP's readjusted on expiration dates from our purchase last month. While I had her on the phone, she was able to put in a request to have the Mickey Monitor mailed out to me asap. If you are a current AP holder and have not gotten your MM yet, I would advise calling them and they can look up your AP Ticket Number and put in the request to get a MM. The number is 407 566 4985 then hit 2 when you hear the computer start talking.

Speak of the devil! The Mickey Monitor came today (so maybe after my request today with the AP Ticket Specialist, I'll get 2 :fingerscrossed:) The Monitor comes with 4 referral cards. In the fine print, it actually states " maximum six purchase discounts per card" So technically those of us that have been sent the mailer, we can give 4 separate individuals these cards because they will be able to make 6 discounted purchases per referral card. And if my math continues... if all 4 cards yield 6 purchases each, the reward for referrer would be up to $600. If anyone else wants to back me up on this claim, then I will be more than happy to send out all 4 cards to 4 members.

Anyways, I haven't read all the posts on this, so I appologize if this info is already out, but I called today, just in case I could get any refund for the one I purchased May 3, not knowing about the discount. The person I spoke with at 1-407-566-4985 (sorry, VIKING, I didn't try 1-800-TUFF-LUCK) was Barbara, and she was very helpful. She told me to write a letter explaining the situation, include a discount card and a copy of my receipt (miraculously, I had it-I usually throw that stuff away). She sounded confident that I'd get my discount. We'll see-the letter goes out today, and I'll keep you posted. BTW, I made the mistake of calling 939-7277 first. The girl there didn't know what I was talking about-she thought I meant AP resort savings, but she gave me this number. Hope this works!

Seriously! I'm a long term reader but first time poster. I didn't want to register on every board I read because it gets a bit overwhelming sometimes! Unfortunately I have a full time job & 2 kids so I don't have tons of time to do all the reading there is to do about WDW even though I'd rather do NOTHING else!

Everyone is just trying to share a little pixie dust here. Yes, the gift cards are beneficial but I truly enjoy sharing the magic with other families while I'm at WDW & especially when I'm not! Very smart business move on the part of Disney, IMHO!

BTW, I have 11 cards that my family will not be using because we already have AP's that don't expire until September. So, if anyone would like to save 10% on AP's you'll be purchasing before July 31st, send me a PM & I'd be more than happy to share the magic! :goodvibes:

On another mail list (dvctalk @ yahoogroups) one poster says that if you read the coupon that it says it cannot be combined with any other discounts. That would be a direct contradiction of what I have been reading here.

The discount card says "Savings is applied to non-discounted price of a Disney Annual or Premium Annual Pass." ... also, only new passes, not renewals.

So, no, I don't think you can do both the DVC discount and an additional 10% using the savings card.

The DVC annual pass is technically not a discounted pass. It is a separate entity for which the FULL PRICE happens to be lower than the standard, non-DVC AP. I have confirmation from a Disney CM that the 10 percent discount CAN be applied to the DVC price. So I am reporting the most accurate information available at this time.

I say we just pool everyone's coupons together, give them all to the next member who is going down to WDW and have them stand in front of Guest Services all day and give them out until they are all gone. Sounds like a Win-Win to me! :woohoodance:

The trick is to steal a page from a Ticket Scalper. Hold a cardboard sign that reads "I need coupons" instead of "I need tickets" because the secret code of scalpers is to say you need tickets but it really means you have tickets so you won't get busted. I'll start fabricating the "DVCNews.com members need coupons" board for her to hold up! :silly: From the looks of everyone that has posted on here with coupons, we would have over 100 I think!

There is no guarantee they will be used, but I got rid of my last two coupons--one on EBay and one on Craig's list. Craig's list I put it under "free stuff", Ebay I charged a penny to bid, a dollar for buy it now. Someone used the buy it now feature.

One warning:

I heard from one person on Craig's list who said she wanted the coupon, but when I thoroughly explained what an AP is and how it works she changed her mind. I thought my ad explained it well, but she thought they were park hoppers, didn't realize how much an AP cost, and thanked me for explaining.

So if you do hear back from anyone, before you send out a coupon I suggest you make sure the person you're sending to understands what he or she is getting. I know that's STILL not a guarantee the coupon will be used, but it's better than the coupon(s) sitting in a drawer.

The gift card website makes absolutely no mention that you can or cannot purchase the DDP with the gift cards. It states numerous times that mostly all the Disney restaurants accepts them but nothing about the Plan. I sent them an email so I'll let everyone know what they say in case anyone else plans on using their cards for the DDP as well.

I called Tables in Wonderland today and asked if I could use the gift cards to get a TIW card. She said not over the phone, but I would be able to do it in person.

And it says you can pay for dining with the gift cards, so I'm guessing you can get the DDP as well.

I'm sorry to hear that! Were they people from here? I was a little concerned when we had a ton of first time members posters asking for cards or trying to give away cards and that's all we ever heard from them. I just think people who have a little bit vested in the site would be courteous enough to only ask for one coupon and politely decline from others instead of just having as many as they want sent to them without thinking about the person on the other end.

Not from here NO but the one person who got it from me I dont know if they post anymore. the other two people where on another site I go on to and was very surprised about how they handeled it I could have given those to someon eelse that really wanted the 10% off I dont care about the G.C i have one for $$ from a raffel i entered around here. but really thats kinda sad
