$25 for the vent jar.
It's taken nearly 2 full days to organize a very simple Mom's Day visit (2 days) to DL.
Not sure what my problem is, but it is driving me crazy.

I did a half hearted search using DVC points for a DL room, but on the weekend that is just nuts. Then I checked out orbitz and finally tried Priceline for the top star category. Was happy and surprised to get Doubletree but then noticed that it was the OTHER doubletree and not the one on Harbor. ARGH. So that ticked me off from the get go.

Called up kid and tried to arrange flight times with her working in Ventura area...so she could save time by driving to DL instead of home to Santa Barbara aftrer work. She kinda complained about the LONG way to DL and why didn't I just go visit her etc....but for a quick trip, I can't justify the flight expense into SB and the drive from LAX isn't all that fun, tho the bus is actually pretty comfy. And I hate making her drive down and back.

SO: I'm flying in/out of Orange and taking the super shuttle for $9 to the hotel. That will let my kid arrive whenever she can and leave earlier on Sunday than I want to leave. (We'll do DCA on Sunday and she likes to beat traffic home but I got an 8pm flight so I can hang out til 6.

I'll have to post this in a few places becasue I just discovered you can use a WDW ticket at DL and get a passhopper in the exchange. This can be a great deal! I might do it, but kid can get the DL 2fer (a day in DL and one in CA but no hopping for $69. Better than that is the current 6 for 4 days parkhopper pass for $189. So if anyone can use part of that...I'd be glad to use 2 days and sell ya the other 4....$32 a day is amazing!!!!

There's also a seasonal version AP for only 116 days but it's pretty darn cheap.

But I digress.

It looks likke we'll chill on Friday aft/eve and then do a long DL on Saturday and finally an early (9am opening) DCA to hit TSM and Soarin and of course I want to do Alladin...a dancer friend of DD's from high school days is Jasmine .

I haven't bought my airline ticket yet because I'm thinking it might be easier to spend Sunday night and fly out Monday instead. Save $20 on air and pay $55 for extra night. I'd definitely do it if I had a parkhopper for Sunday and stay at the DL til midnight sunday night.

So anyway...my computer is all icky: suddenly the screen changed and I can't deal with the changes....things move around without my authorization! there is some kind of gremlin in my computer that does this just to drive me nucking futts.

OK....that's it. I'm excited to spend a few with the kid but have a hearing on the divorce crapola later in May which is preventing me from taking a longer vacation (like to PV) so this will just have to do!

Although this info is a few years old:
I've done Mom's Day at Universal and WDW and at DL....and it is actually fairly UNcrowded on these days . (Universal was DEAD about 4 years ago).

I imagine there are lots of Jasmine's . I was talking with someone from DD's old studio and they told me about this girl playing Jasmine. She was a good dancer and her 'rents moved out to LA to help her find a career in dancing. In a way, it's a bit sad that she is Jasmine (tho her coloring is perfect for the role!), because Disney doesn't really utilize it's dancer's to their full ability. I think she is trying to make the move to Broadway soon.
This dance studio 'put out' a lot of great dancers and choreographers: Keri Russell is one of the most visible. It's fun seeing what the 'old' kids are up to these days!

Trip is coming together:
Flight gets in earlier than I first thought, @ 1:15 pm on Friday. Since the park is open late, I think it might be a park day!!!!!!

Pricelined a Doubletree and tho it isn't within walking distance the price was right.

got a ticket from Ebay. we'll see how that works. Ws going to go with the Cal rsident 2fers my kid could get, but that doesn't allow parkhopping at the $69 price. (But you can get a parkhopper for $94 for 2 days.)

Made late lunch ressies at the Blue Bayou. Never ate here. Always wanted to. Now we'll JUST DO IT. Going to order the Monte Christo and crab cake appetizer to share. (Well, that 's what Im thinking we'll do.)

Haven't done anything else, but it is Food and Wine at DCA and I'm hoping we do a few culinary and more than a few wine-ary free events!

Oh, cool! I LOVE the Blue Bayou! Can't wait to eat there again in January. Tell them you'll wait for a waterside table - it's worth it.

CB: When we went to DL on Mothr's day weekend in 2002, they were giving out flowers to all the moms - one carnation, but I thought that was nice! My cousins took "mine" home to their mom that night (I had driven from Las Vegas to Anaheim with the two teens for the over night trip).

Doom , I think they still do it as I was there last year for Mother's Day and I seem to remember putting the red carnation on my visor. And it IS nice.
Not so nice is charging $85 per person for a Mother's Day Brunch at the DL hotel.

Well...I'm going to pack tonight but was looking for my Disney Visa card last night and can't find it...oh oh! I have my DVC card which gets the same discounts, but I hate losing credit cards, tho I usually just misplace them in the house.
