I think it's the Lancaster County part that's more important than the PA part.

The chat room is actually always open and available if anyone wants to use it. Normally we have an "Official" Moderated chat every Friday at 8PM Eastern.

However this week the moderator (me) has tickets to a concert, so I won't be there. That doesn't mean chat can't happen, only that there may not be someone to officially welcome newcomers, or to engage you if you're quiet.

I'm going to post again on Friday to give the info to the people who haven't read this thread.

What concert Mar'?

An oldie but goodie (imo) Kathy, The Dead. I have seen Bob Weir's band (ratdog) and Phil Lesh's band (Phil Lesh and friends) but this is the first tour the whole band has reunited since the death of Jerry. I checked out the setlists they've done so far, it looks really awesome. Fingers crossed for my favorite, Box of Rain. :fingerscrossed:

I'll miss chatting but I couldn't resist this show, and I have very nice seats.

Kimmy and I were there earlier, and Diz was in and out. My Mom called and I spoke with her for way too long. Then DH convinced me to work out with him. I both love and hate having the bowflex. Mostly love.

Sorry I missed everyone.

I find when I moderate that I have to stay in the room even if no one is there, because if someone DOES show up they will more than likely leave if the room is empty (understandably). So I do something else online and wait for folks to arrive in chat. Then, more often than not, others will follow.

Sorry it didn't work out too well last night. Let's make up for that next Friday!

Oh and BTW, the Dead concert I went to was very disappointing. They only played a couple of their classic hits, and most of what they did play was too mellow for me on a Friday night. I had to fight falling asleep, in fact I did nod out once or twice. Last year, when I saw Bob Weir's band, Ratdog, they did a number of really cool Grateful dead songs, so I expected at least a few. Even the two they played that were classic were not among my favorites. And there were two longgggggggg breaks that seemed to go on forever. I spent the whole show thinking "The next one has GOT to be a good one" but that never happened. :boohoohoo:

So I shoulda saved the money, stayed home and chatted. :oweye:

I was out at a buddies house last night, :biggulp:, and I didn't have my laptop. I tried to get in on my iPod touch, but the connection was too slow, so I gave up.

Mar, sorry the concert wasn't good. I saw the Dead a couple of times back in the Jerry days. Not my thing, but Box of Rain is a very good song.

That's my favorite Dead song Nick. If I had only heard that one song I would have left satisfied. I have been reading reviews of the show, everyone hated it.

Sorry the concert didn't live up to expectations, Mar. I hate when you look forward to something and it doesn't satisfy. At least it was a nice evening yesterday. Where were you, Nassau Coliseum?

Mrs. Nick, just noticed your ticker. How in the world did I miss this news?
Congratulations.

Mar' sorry about the concert. I am sure you were really disappointed.
Last week was the opposite for me.

Ron and I went to see the Smothers Brothers. They were kind of before my time. I went thinking I was going to be bored out of my mind. I loved them.
Even at their age, they were great.

I came home and googled them to see what I could find out about them.

I missed chat yet again as we were at dance class. Looks like our standard lesson time will be Friday nights. Maybe if my traveling slows down, we can switch to a different night, but for now, I know I will always be in town on Friday. So that pretty much leaves me out of chat.

Yep mrs N, it was certainly disappointing in every way. I never expect to hear everything I want to hear, but this was the first time I saw the Dead (or any of the incarnations, ie Rat Dog, Phil Lesh and friends) that I left totally unsatisfied. Not one song I truly cared about. For some reason they did 3 Dylan songs, all of which I like, but I really would have much preferred some DEAD songs that I liked. It really was a waste of time and I left feeling not only disappointed but irritated. They seemed like they phoned it in, not a spark of energy. And waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much downtime between songs. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Uh huh, you're right, was at the Nassau Coliseum.

Kathy I have always liked the Smothers Brothers so I am sure I would have had fun if I was there. Glad you and Ron enjoyed! :cheerleader:
