Nothing like a trip to WDW to make me want to book another one! I had April/May and October booked, but I realized I am never going to hold out 6 months between trips. One thing I realized after this last trip is that it\'s not a Disney Vacation to me if I am not at BWV. So I called MS today and booked 4 days and 3 nights in a studio at BWV for August 12-15. Got roundtrip w/Delta for $99 each way and booked DME too. :goodvibes:

So anyone else going in August?

Looks like our trips will certainly overlap dalenchip! Awwww boo nono, so near and yet so far, wish we were going the same week. :(

Yep Laura, BWV is IT for me. I know very well that we all have different tastes and no way would I say it\'s the only place to be for everyone. But it\'s the only place for me. I walked past it 3 times during this last trip to GF/Pop, even when inside for a quick BWV \"fix\". Can\'t wait to be \"home\" in April/May! (and to see you there!!)

We will be there Aug 17th through 25 at VWL. Late Aug = less points! It will be 5 of us: wife, son (22 months in Aug), myself, and my parents. It will be my parents first time to WDW.

I thought about going late August for the very reason you mentioned, lower points. I think crowds will be better later in August too. But I am scheduled to teach a class that week, so I couldn\'t book later than the week I am going. :(

I was thinking about going in August, but I decided to visit the surface of the Sun. I think it might be a little cooler.:rolleye11:

No denying it\'s killer hot in August. But if you get up early and hit the parks first thing and then go back to the villa for a long break during the hottest/most crowded times and then out again in the evening it works out fine. The parks are open late, so even with the long break I\'ll get plenty done. One thing I love about BWV is there\'s so much to do in the BW area that I\'m perfectly fine with spending a lot of time near my room--and Air Conditioning! :goodvibes:

A hot day at WDW is still better than a cool day at home!

I have actually thought about trying a summer trip some day. My oldest will be in college this fall. So he will not be able to join us in the off season like he once did. I have a game plan I have been mulling around and thought you could give me some feedback since you have gone in the summer.

We come in from the West Coast. So we always get to bed about 1:00am the first night. What if we just stayed on west coast time the entire trip? I think this would work for us becuase it it hard enough to get my family used to Florida time. This is how our day would look:

Go to bet at 1:00am (10:00 am Pacific)
Wake at 10:00am (7:00am Pacific) (This mirrors our normal schedule)
Leasurly Breakfast at Villa
Do laundry, tidy up.
Out to the pool by 11:30am
11:30am to 1:30pm Pool time
1:30pm to 2:30PM get entire family ready for Early Dinner.
2:30pm to 3:00pm drive to dinner somewhere on property
3:00pm to 4:30PM Sit down Dinner
4:30pm to 11:30pm Enjoy parks ( and late night snack)
11:30pm to 12:00pm Drive back to Villa
12:00pm to 1:00pm showers/baths
1:00pm Bedtime

Do it again tomorrow.

The reason I think this schedule would work well is that the Hottest part of the day we are either swimming, in our villa, or at a nice air conditioned sit down dinning location. We really do not hit the parks until 4:30pm when it should be cooler. This gives us (Potentially) 7 hours a day in the parks.

Additionally, these late lunch ADRs are easier to get, and lunch is always cheaper than dinner. We can have a light snack later in the evening at the parks. (Dole Whip anyone?)

What do you think?

Dave,

I think you have a plan. Biggest plus I see is that you guys will cool down your core by swimming everyday before your real \"day\" begins. The Viking is always amazed that I can live in the heat and humidity of a NJ summer at the beach without air conditioning. But, it\'s easy for me. I swim almost every afternoon. On the days I don\'t, I feel the heat a whole lot more as the night wears on. :)

August works for me. Not my preference, but it fits the school calendar.

We did a week at BWV last August, followed by an HHI week. Yeah sure the surface of the sun was less crowded, but we had a heck of a good time, We did rope drop every morning and often left by 1pm, returning late afternoon(5-ish) for the rest of the night. We\'ll be in this cycle till the 4th grader graduates high school.

Was there last July and didn\'t find it that bad. Granted, our house in NY is still without AC so we are used to the heat. Didn\'t effect my wife, myself or the baby. It was crowded, but we were able to do everything we wanted. This trip in Aug will be just as hot but less crowded. Unless Disney does free dining.

Also, it is less points. Did I mention that already? ;)

I think my biggest problem is comming from the West Coast. We have such low humidity here that my wife has become somewhat of a whimp when it comes to heat. We just came back from a trip at the end of January, and the last day it got up to 80. She was complaining about the humidity. (in January!). Same thing happend last December, and Early May. I think it will be difficult to ever get her out there in the summer.
