Disney's BoardWalk Inn and VIllas is losing one of its signature restaurants. Spoodles will close later this year to make way for Kouzzina by Cat Cora.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://www.orlandosentinel.com) quotes Disney parks chairman Jay Rasulo regarding their partnership with the celebrity chef:
This collaboration between Cat and Disney represents a significant step in our ongoing commitment to offer unique culinary experiences and choices for our guests.

Unless they are going to have good old eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast for breakfast, I am not a happy camper. I've gotten some good suggestions for sit down breakfasts (not buffet) from posters on other sites, but Spoodles was always our go-to place in the morning.

Hopefully this new restaurant will be as good or better than Spoodles because I loved eating dinner at Spoodles.

Yes, One of the best kept breakfast secrets:
Spoodles Breakfast Platter - All You Care to Eat platter of scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, French toast, bacon, sausage $12.99 per person.
They also serve real coffee in a press pot. Hope it's still open when we are there the beginning of June for one last pig out
The all you care to eat breakfast was really good. It had been better in the past. When Spoodles first opened, the breakfast special included chorizo, some kind of roasted peppers for the eggs and an ensaimada type pastry. Awesome! Both versions will be missed.

She is chef on the Food Network's Iron Chef. Our DS 24 worked for Michael Symon who is also an Iron Chef.

I like Cat Cora, but I dont see us going there much. We just aren't "fancy food" eaters. Steakhouses are perfect for my family.
I hope it turns out to be a good thing for all of you that love it.

I will make sure I eat at Spoodles then this coming trip in Aug. We are at BCV so it is a nice quick walk if for b-fast. What do you all recommend: b-fast, lunch or dinner?

There's a fighting chance the breakfast will be unaffected. I doubt Cat Cora will be getting up that early. :D

This is fine with me. Kouzzina by Cat Cora probably won't be much different from Spoodles as it is now.
It's the old Spoodles that I miss. When Spoodles first opened years ago, it was a Tapas restaurant, serving little appetizer sized portions of many different items. The idea was for each person to select a few things and share them with their tablemates. That way everyone got to taste many different things. The whole family loved it.
After raving about it to all our friends, we returned for a family reunion...lo and behold...Spoodles had undergone a transformation to become a "appetizer, entree, dessert" restaurant. What a disappointment! To make matters worse, they had these really horrible tables.
We've gone back for breakfast a few times and it's good. But the Tapas dinner was suberb IMHO.
