We booked a studio at BCV October 4th-8th, and I'm wondering what is the best room with a view to request?

Any room not looking towards new jersey.
Ask for southern exposure.

I was looking at the roomfinder (and that link for the resort layout) and there were a couple of studios that looked towards WS that looked good. I'll have to go check out which ones they were.

Just looking at room layout, these look good to me (I have not stayed in any of them, but if I'm bold enough to request a specific room, I would do so for one of these): 455, 459, 469, 555, 559, 569--but that's just because they all seem to point towards Epcot. All I know is that we stayed in 478 (which is a 2BR), but the view wasn't that good--looked mainly over the parking lot and was at the end of the hall away from elevators.
Here's a link to the room view from 555:

and 559 (posted by someone we all know, and therefore also on DVCNews room finder):

To those who would know: Is it true the balcony lights on the top floor don't turn off?

Top floor, woods view. They discontinued the Epcot view years ago. But if you get top floor woods view you may be able to watch Illuminations from your balcony.
Sadly, Nick, you'll be checking out the day we check in.
Like Rita said, they won't even let members request an "Epcot View" anymore. :confused24:
We did luck-out and get a great Epcot view during our one stay. It was top floor and we could see most of Illuminations from the room (too cold for balcony.)
That said, if I were to stay there again I would probably request the pool view. The side of the resort that faces Epcot sits alongside a major roadway. Even if you get that section but are on a lower floor, you may be very disappointed in the ambiance. Lots of theme park buses and general resort traffic driving by all day long.
Besides, I'm something of an Illuminations snob. :p It was impressive being able to see the fireworks from our high-floor balcony, but the show wasn't nearly as entertaining without the music and the full experience.

Is there a courtyard view?
And do the lights on the balcony really stay on all night long if you are on the top floor?
I'm hoping for a BCV studio for F&W, too--I get to try tomorrow!

Does the noise effect the upper floors? I may request the upper floors that MM suggested, and then if they aren't available, request a pool view.

Um, well, I had already been dreaming about possible rooms for me this October
Thanks for the well wishes for the 7 month ressies. Sad to report, the night we arrive is not currently available in a studio at BCV--the remainder are. So, since the first night isn't available, I couldn't book the rest today. So I booked the week at SSR. (My brother's choices for resorts, in order, are BCV, SSR, BLT, and AKV). I don't know if I will call tomorrow to book the last four days; I'm leaving that up to my brother (since, after last year, I have had my fill of moving resorts if the waitlist doesn't come through). Last fall I just waitlisted for one night and it didn't come through (it was for a 2br at BCV, though I just WL at the 3mo mark).

Well, thanks for the info just the same!
I can't get down with the whole waitlisting thing, then I feel like I'm in limbo. I like to have my plans set asap.
Good luck, whatever you decide.

Tadaa! Courtyard view-

And yes balcony lights do stay on all night, but if you close the curtains, the lights won't bother you. This is from DH, who's a very light sleeper, who was "forced" to stay at a resort other than his beloved OKW. He would have complained about ANY little thing wrong with BCV. Yet the balcony lights didn't even bother him-now, me, I sleep like a rock anyways, so not much bothers me.

The vvery best room is this one, 543. I especially loved it because a hawk was sitting right outside my window every morning (OK, so I'm a bird-loving Geek). Just leave the room in pretty good condition since I hope to get it a week after you.

Great pictures. I hope I get my requests and a hawk is sitting on my balcony every morning.
