I've seen the options for all the tours that are available at WDW but no prices. I know you receive a discount for being a DVC member, but does anyone know the going rates for the tours that they offer either with or without the discount? Also anyone have any to recommend???

It depends on the discount you have, which you must announce before they tell you the price. Example: You have a 10% discount. The full price is $75.00, you pay $67.50. If you have a 20% discount, the full price is $85.00. Technically you are better off with the lower discount.

They change the base price based on your "discount"??? I didn't know they did that, seems rather unethical if I'm reading this right...

Is this for all "tours"? I did Epcot Dive Quest & Backstage magic on previous trips with a AAA discount. Wasn't a DVCer yet & still no Disnvey Visa or AP.

I can't post web links, but All Ears (allearsdotnet) has prices that are usually close. To find them, just do a search for tours from the main page. I have not had Viking's experience, but it is a good caution. Ask the price, then ask for the discount.

Viking was kidding Disney Geek. Never trust a Viking! :viking:

Here is a link to all the tours, with prices:

To see the varous discounts, click here:

Both links are from allears.net, a super duper site for Disney Info.

The only one I recommend is the only one I truly enjoyed from start to finish: Keys to the Kingdom.

The others I did were Undiscovered Future World at Epcot and Family Magic in the MK. Both were just OK--not bad but nothing to write home about imho. It may have been the guides, perhaps someone else may have made those tours more interesting to me.

OH, should have given my recommendations, done two, recommend both:

Backstage Magic: Did it once, really enjoyed it! Not sure I'd want to do it again until then change a lot of the content because seeing & learning new info. (and going into the utilidors!) was the cool part. :thumbsup2:

EPCOT Dive Quest: I've done it three times. DW on two. She wants to do it again every trip. 'Nuff said? :scratchchin:

Yup, forgot we did that one on my BD last year. DW & I liked it. She bought one of the cloned souvenir plants we got to look into the lab's window where they make them. Relaxed walking tour. Neat to be behind the scenes and wave at guests on the 'normal' boat ride. Maybe only a one-time deal, but if you are interested in gardening and sustainable fish it was pretty cool.

is the cloned souvenir still alive(like does it last a long time)? was it expensive? just some questions because my mom is the real gardener and I would probably get her one of those.

Thanks for all the input, we will probably give Keys to the Kingdom a shot, it doesn't seem like it is too expensive compared to how long the tour is with lunch. Has anyone done the Segway Tour through Epcot?

Yup, still alive. :D Grows in a gel and can stay in it's little "test tube" until the gel is used up, it is sitting on our window sill and still happy in it's little world. Probably ought to transplant it soon, but it still has 'goo' left so we haven't... DW thinks it was around $14. They have a (half?) dozen or so plant varieties to choose from.

Incidentally, they will NOT 'ship' it back to your (on-property) room because the heat of sitting on a truck may kill it. You buy them at the little gift shop in the lower level of The Land near Soarin'; the same place as the BTS tour signup.

Here's a link to our November poll about tours:
http://dvcnews.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1772

And you can get some reviews from All Ears Net:
http://land.allears.net/reviewpost/showcat.php?cat=66

And you tend to get a 20% discount if you use Disney Visa. The DVC Discount is only 15%.

Maybe you can call Member Services to find out what the tours cost.
