We had a great time on the Wonder. Met some very nice DVC guides but one thing that kind of bothered me was that they gave out the red members caps to non members as well as the Dumbo and Lilo pins. I even said to the guide, Hey I'm a member and those people are not and you are giving out stuff to them? He just said he thought they were with me.
Anyway, it makes you feel less special so it may be just me.
Or they are so desperate during these economic times to get people to buy.
He even said they've been busy because more people are buying inot DVC as a guard against inflation. I don't know about that.

Glad you had a good time, despite the above incident. I kinda feel the same way when non-members are greeted by "Welcome Home" at DVC resorts. For as much as the DVC costs, I think we should get some sort of special perks! :D

Which "route" (I guess it is an itenerary) did you take?

It was just the 3 night cruise. A Momcation for sis, me and a friend.
Yeah, sometimes they don't make us members feel any special because they already have us!
Matterhorn Miss, I was at the Disney outlets and got a ladies white DVC member shirt stitched in silver thread for less than $15!

It was to Nassau the Bahamas and then Castaway Cay. Weather was cool but still worth it!

You always give such good outlet DVC merch updates!

I wore my outlet hooded sweatshirt over the weekend :D

So what sort of DVC incentives did they offer on the cruise? We're taking our first trip on the Wonder in a few weeks! :D

I was wondering about stuff like that we were told by some friends of ours that they would give away free pins to members. like the pins that have stitch, pluto, dumbo, lady and the tramp. but we have been going to the stands in WDW and asking those people and they always say they don't have but there have been about 3 times in which I have waited to ask them if they had them and they were talking to another guest about DVC and gave them and their childrens pins but said they couldn't give them out anymore but he just gave them out in my face. I was thinking of videotaping things like this and talking to a manager or something and inquiring about what I could do. have you had the same thing happen to you. I heard that on cruises the guides and people that offer DVC are A lot nicer so maybe they don't do these type of things. just wondering.

I think on the cruise they are extra nice because they need a certain number of people to attend their DVC presentation. With my 2 friends who are not members, the guide thanked me for bringing them to get past his quota of 13 people attending these meetings. They were giving away towels and other stuff when asking questions in a game format to help people understand DVC. My friends didn't buy and I'm not interested right now in adding on.
I only remember getting a free cruise as in incentive to buy or add-on. A choice of 3, 4 or 7 night based on how many points you added on.
One thing the guide did was tell us to wear our red DVC caps and if he saw us he would give us the pins. He told us he would be at Atlantis or Serenity Bay each day. Well, he never showed up and I felt like they used us for free advertising since we wore the caps. He gave us the pins when we went to ask for them. It's just a sorry game that they play and they need to more careful in offending their members.

I do think that they need to be ncier and atleast show some type of care for the already members. I also kinda feel the same that when we weren't a member they gave us the best treatment and now we get no good treatment but hey we are members so we got what we wanted. lol!
