The premise of this is very simple. You ask a question, and the person after you answers your question. Then that person gets to ask another question.

DiZ NeE 08
01-26-2009, 10:11 PM
Dang that a tough one!!! I think that since I don't have enough points and I have a pretty big family, and my g/f doesn't feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed with me while family is around. 01-27-2009, 05:43 AM

OK, what if there was no DVC and you didn't own an interest in a vacation home in WDW, what do you think you'd do for vacation? Something completely different? Still go to WDW and find a different timeshare? Buy a summer house in a beach community somewhere?
DiZ NeE 08
01-29-2009, 01:03 PM
I would probably still go to disney but stay as I always have in a value resort and then not go to disney for like 1 1/2 - 2 years and stay in a moderate or deluxe resort. lol! I would basically have to save up or spend A LOT more money to stay at a nicer resort.

ghost1000
01-30-2009, 12:37 PM
We've only been to Typhoon Lagoon once, and it was for an evening activity call Goofy's Mystery Tour. But I really like the look of Summit Plummit, so I'll say Blizzard Beach.

ghost1000
02-04-2009, 06:44 AM
VWL in December is the best. But if you don't own there, don't even try to get a reservation in December.
But we're hoping to get AKV Savanna view for our trip in October.
I know my answer doesn't help, but take it for what it's worth.
What is your favorite experience in Epcot?
KevinZ
02-04-2009, 10:17 AM
What's not to love in Epcot?:confused24: I love world show case. England and Germany.
If you were in charge of WDW, what added service would add for guests?
djplong
02-04-2009, 12:07 PM
For a small premium, I would allow a guest to order a "FastPass Itinerary" for one park for the day. The guest would check off which FP rides they want to make sure they hit and roughly what time of day (and the size of their party) - maybe a kiosk in the lobbies validated against the 'keys'. You would get ONE FP for each ride you wanted. Multiple keys could be swiped so that groups could go at the same time. This would prevent situations like I saw in another thread where all Soarin FPs were gone within 2 hours of the rope drop.
What's the one 'secret' at WDW that you don't want too many people to find out about (presumably ruining the fun for you with too many people)?
DiZ NeE 08
02-04-2009, 03:49 PM
I would say DVC!!!!!!
what did you do the first time you stayed in a DVC resort? For example; did you spend more time around the resort enjoying the fact that you are staying in a Deluxe resort?
My first stay at a DVC resort was HHI. We spent quite a bit of time at the resort, but the thing that made the biggest difference for me was the level of service. The CMs made tee times for me at alot of nice golf courses. I got great discounts for golf and restaurants. The activities were great, like a dolphin cruise and horseback riding on the beach at sunrise. I need to get back there soon. It has been a few years.
What accommodations did you reserve on your first DVC trip, and where?
DiZ NeE 08
02-04-2009, 09:41 PM
My first DVC trip is actually this weekend from Feb 7-8, then May 3-10, and then again in Dec 6-13 woot! woot!

Grand Prix Raceway/Autopia/whutever it is called now...

djplong
02-09-2009, 06:18 AM
Having over a half-dozen characters posing in a semi-circle around my then-4-year-old daughter (she's now 21) at the Studios. They were headed 'backstage', presumably at the end of their shift, and we got them *all alone* for a picture. If I think of it, I'll have to upload it - I have a scan of the old polaroid. It was very surreal..

ghost1000

That was the year I danced to the Sleeping Beauty Waltz. Ever since that time, Princess Aurora has been my favorite Disney princess. But I think it's because Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain.

02-16-2009, 07:52 AM
that's a tough one, my g/f loves the carousel of progress and we have been hearing that they are removing it but don't know what will replace it. I would have to say something of wall-e in that same space.
what is the resort that you think is best for relaxing?
ffpmme
02-16-2009, 08:08 AM
Wilderness Lodge, it tucked away so you can sit on the beach and not be disturbed. Far enough away from any park to relax. But easy to get to a prk if you wanted to. Plus since it is a little out of the way, it has to be a destination of people not just a place people pass through to get to somewhere.
What resort is the worst for relaxing?
ghost1000
02-16-2009, 08:31 AM
Toy Story!!!
has anyone had interaction with the Mr. Potato head? he was really cool when we went he talked back to you and cracked jokes and actually noticed when someone would laugh at them.
I was disappointed that Mr. Potato head didn't react when we brought potato chips to eat in front of him.

walking! :rotfl2: I think the worst is when you stay at the all-stars and all 3 resorts are one stop in every park and you have to wait 6 buses for you to get on one, and mostly when people with a wheelchair or scooter come and cut infront of everyone with a groupd of like 10 people and they cut everyone. but other than that the buses of the all-stars.
Has anyone else felt the same way about the wheelchair or scooter guests that skip infront of everyone with a HUGE!!! line to get on the bus? I get upset because I have been waiting like 20-30 mins for a bus and then they come with a huge party and then there's no room for those that have been waiting.

Toy Story!!!
has anyone had interaction with the Mr. Potato head? he was really cool when we went he talked back to you and cracked jokes and actually noticed when someone would laugh at them.
I didn't think it was really Mr Potato head reacting, as the voice is that of
Don Rickles and it's recorded in advance. I think it's just a coincidence when it seems he is really talking to someone.
If someone knows for sure that I am wrong please let me know.
idratherbeinwdw
02-16-2009, 10:56 AM
I never had a wheelchair party of 10 cut ahead of me. 3 or 4 yes, but not ten. No I don't get annoyed because I would rather be standing waiting than need to use a chair to get around. I have read of people who don't really need a chair using one to get around the lines, now that's just wrong. Karma will get those people. :blech:
What's your favorite time to visit WDW and why?
DiZ NeE 08
02-16-2009, 03:18 PM
I would have to say it is the first or second week of christmas, because of the fact that it is not that busy, MVMCP is going on and the Osbourne spectacle of lights is on too. not that many people in the parks with all the benefits.
what is the worst time that you have been to disney? except for summertime.
KevinZ
02-16-2009, 04:44 PM
Is there a worse time? I'd say the last time we visited it got down to 40 degrees, so that wasn't good.
Do you take the buses or rent a car?

When was your first trip to WDW or Disneyland?
DiZ NeE 08

My first trip to WDW was while I was still in the womb, and the first year of birth. I still have the map of epcot of that year.
do you take a camcorder to disney and videotape everything that goes on while at disney.
djplong

Don't remember my first trip to DL because I was so young (1960s - we lived in San Francisco and used to go down a couple of times a year).
WDW, however, is a different story. We were down there just after it opened in 1971 - went on a lark flying from NYC when my grandmother in Boston told us not to come up one weekend because one of my uncles decided to take her along with the family to "that new Disneyland in Florida". She was more than a little surprised when we showed up at her hotel.
Who's your favorite character that you just don't see in the parks anymore (but used to see - i.e. the heroine from "Atlantis" who's name escapes me)?

maybe a dinner or it could be a meet up at a park and maybe we could do some kinda of activity like I have read drink around or eat around the world in epcot. or maybe if the group is small enough to fit in a jungle cruise boat we can do one boat. if not then that ideas out the window.

Has to be Space Mountain as that was my first coaster that wasn't "standard". It was my introduction to theming a ride that never really got 'themed' before (I was too young to ride the Matterhorn when I lived in CA). Space Mountain single-handedly raised my expectations of rides and roller coasters.

KNWVIKING 2.0
03-05-2009, 06:56 AM
Don't buy lotto tix. In fact, when the jackpot is huge, everybody at work kicks in $5.00 and they buy a couple hundred. I make a show out of taking $5.00 out of my left pocket & putting it in my right one. The morning after the lotto drawing I make a show out of taking my "winnings" out of my right pocket & put it back into my left.
If you do play, what's the most you ever won ?
7swans
03-05-2009, 07:09 AM
I do not, can't stand to part w/ $ knowing it is almost certainly for naught. DH plays sometimes & years ago early in our marriage when we were really struggling financially, he got 5 of 6 super lotto #'s correct. He had hand picked them and was 3 numbers off on the last # to be called. He won $1,000.00 which I allowed him to waste. Turned out winning that $ was just enough to put us in a higher tax bracket. It ended up costing us $ to have won!
I will spend money at an event like a reverse raffle or something for a charity or cause, but to me that's a donation & not the same as gambling.
Have you ever been to a to casino?
KNWVIKING 2.0
03-05-2009, 07:21 AM
Yes. I live 30 minutes from Atlantic City. Just recently spent two nights at the Showboat for my anniversary. We do gamble small amounts. I don't mind losing $20.00 but I can honestly say that overall, I'm up several hundred dollars. On the anniversary trip I won $85.00. Best part about casinos is the food. I have never had a bad meal. Even the chicken tender platter at the fast food location in the Taj was fantastic.

I have never played, but when I was 7yrs old I was given a lotto ticket for my birthday and I won 4 bucks with it. which to me was amazing back then I couldve bought a bunch of stuff with that.
if you were to win the lottery whatever amount would you take it all at once knowing that the taxes would cut the money drastically or take it in installments over time?
DisneyGeek
03-05-2009, 08:25 AM
Ooooh, two open questions!
Casinos- probably good for the local state. LOTs of people leave Ohio to go to surrounding area casinos; why not keep it all in state.
Lottery winnings- I'd take it all at once. In most economies I think I'd do better paying off debts, buying a few toys (new care, more DVC points:thumbsup2:...) and then banking and investing the rest, assuming it was a BIG win! :yahoo:
If you 'retire' or otherwise move to Florida and were 'close' to WDW, would you sell your DVC and go for day trips only?

What's your favorite non-park thing to do when you visit WDW?

something that I would like to do non-park wise is probably go to the hiking trails at the resorts. that would be cool! I loved going to Fort Wilderness and riding my bike around the whole place, and then going to the night campfire activities.
Dang! sorry I skipped a couple of questions but my internet was messed up! and I am talking about really messed up. I finally got it fixed!!!

What ride/attraction that if you could bring back, what would it be?
djplong
03-09-2009, 06:37 AM
I'll combine it with another question to answer - Horizons should come back AND be refreshed. Hard to imagine that a pavillion that wasn't open until a year after the park opened was demolished less than 20 years later. Nothing against "Mission Space" - just that "Horizons" shouldn't have had to be erased for it.
How would you improve the transportation in WDW?
riley70
03-09-2009, 08:00 AM
For actual transportation, I would extend the monorail to DHS. This may not count as tranportation, but I would build more walking paths (Wilderness lodge to TTC, AKL to AK park, etc). Might not be possible, but I would try.

How long is the longest you have gone without visiting WDW since you have joined DVC?
ghost1000
03-11-2009, 06:44 AM
We're in the longest time right now. We left WDW on 11/3/08 and our next trip isn't until later this month. We were going in January, for the Expedition Everest Sneak Peak and then the Pirate & Princess Party.
Did you get your copy of Pinocchio yet?
MiNniE 08
03-11-2009, 09:55 AM
Yes I did. It arrived in the mail yesterday along with an exclusive Pinocchio Pin. =0)
What ride would you absolutely hate to be closed in all of WDW???

HTH or RNRC or EE if any of those are ever removed I will never forgive Disney!!!!!
if you lost your job and haven't been able to find one would you cancel an entire disney trip? or atleast cancel all your ADR's?
ghost1000
03-12-2009, 10:15 AM
I wouldn't cancel ADRs until closer to the trip. If you cancel the trip, just be sure to do it before the 30 day deadline.
But gas is much cheaper than it was a year ago, so driving from Miami to Orlando won't be as expensive. I would keep the reservation. Besides, I have a personal reason--we're going to meet in front of TSMM at 8:15 on Saturday.
What memory of WDW stands out for you the most?

Wow that's a toughie, there are so many to choose from!
I'll go with getting into the hot seat at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

I haven't had any real situation the only thing that maybe would count as this would be when I was 13 or younger I was in MK and I was eating a mickey bar and a guest bumped into me and made me drop my mickey bar and I was pissed!!! well, I told the person and they said sorry which didn't help because my mickey bar was still gone(I love those mickey bars. lol!) about 1min later of me watching people step all over it as people lined up to watch wishes a CM brought me another and told me not to worry about people like that. lol!
another situation was my g/f lost her camera and they didn't really do much except give us a manager fastpass to any ride in HS that day! we were upset because it never showed up and we had gone on that trip just to take pictures of everything that said MGM on it. lol!3
EDIT: oh! and getting dream fastpasses!!!!
now someone else tell us about a time a CM did something above and beyond the call of duty to make your vacation extra special.

Chad always makes our breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe special, but the last time we ate there he made it extra special.
I had asked for Chad when I checked in, but they assigned us to someone else's table. I said that I had wanted Chad, but it turns out he was booked up. But they went to him, showed him my name, and he made room for us (I think we were only a party of two).
And I had a "kissing contest" with someone who was down with us at the same time (it was Bambi from the 1900 Park Fare Cake thread:
http://dvcnews.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2239)
It was boys vs. girls, and whoever could kiss as many people during the week was the winner (the girls won). Not only did Chad let me kiss him (on the cheek), but he brought his Manager and the chef at WCC, and the Manager took me over to the bell captain's desk.
Who is the most prized character that you have ever met while in WDW?
ghost1000
03-14-2009, 07:32 AM
I didn't realize my question would be the thread killer.
I've met Tarzan and Hercules, and I don't think they do appearances any more. But the most prized character was Maleficent. I met her at MNSSHP, and I got her picture and an autograph.
Which attraction do you do first at Epcot?
MiNniE 08
03-14-2009, 08:31 AM
That is a tough question because I love meeting all of them.. But my FAVORITE CHARACTER has to be Mary Poppins!! I love her! I remember as a kid I would always carry around an umbrella and pretend I was her!! lol
If you could work at any park, in any position, what would you like to do at WDW???

DiZ NeE 08

Dangit! I can't beleieve that they are closing spoodles! since I have been listening to WDWtoday.com they have been saying that spoodles for breakfast is awesome!!! so I wanted to go there sometime in the future.
When you go to Disney do you change the fries for the apple slices for your kids? since the apple slices are healthy!
ghost1000
03-18-2009, 04:47 PM
We don't have any kids, but I always get the fries.
Which WDW attraction would you like to see brought back, or brought back to its original format?
DiZ NeE 08
03-19-2009, 08:13 AM
I have to give 2 answers to this. I would say the ride that I think is a must bring back is HORIZONS!!! and the one that they should take back in time is journey into imagination!
which ride do you think should be brought back or bought back to it's original format.
ghost1000
03-19-2009, 11:02 AM
I agree with you about Horizons and Journey into Imagination. Figment just isn't the same without Dreamfinder.
I'd like to bring back 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and revert the Tiki Room to its previous version. DH would probably like to see Mr. Toad's Wild Ride brought back.
Have you ever spoken to an Epcot CM in their native language? What language and what was their reaction? (English doesn't count)

I was in the mexico pavilion and there were 3 CM's commenting on my shirt. and one told me that they liked it. it was star wars! and I told them thank you in spanish and that I knew spanish. lol! I also know a couple of japanese words.
have you ever bought a sombrero in mexico?
No, but I bought a wooden turtle once.
What is the best entertainment you have seen at the WS Pavilion?

Just to keep this moving---
We haven't done the Dive Quest.
If you were to take a Disney character on a ride, which character would it be, and which ride would it be? I should note that you would be on the ride with the character, you wouldn't leave the character on the ride by him or herself.
MiNniE 08
03-20-2009, 03:20 PM
I would say HTH or RNRC with any of the Princesses because I want to see if they can keep their character up.. LOL
Besides loving Disney... Why did you decide to join DVC???
I sold timeshares in college. Always thought it was a good idea. DVC points system was great. And I LOVE Disney.
Who is the hottest Disney "prince?"
MiNniE 08
03-21-2009, 07:39 AM

If you could give disney any idea that you think is great for a ride, or store, or anything you come up with, what would it be???
ghost1000

For me it would be a National Treasure ride, using the same ride vehicle as Indiana Jones Adventure/Dinosaur.
What is your favorite time of year to go to Disney?

What is the worst thing that ever happened to you on a Disney vacation?
DiZ NeE 08
03-21-2009, 10:14 AM
The worst thing that has happened to me on a disney vacation has to be that I didn't pack enough socks. lol! (I'm a sock guy).
but the absolute worst thing that has happened to my g/f is that she lost her camera! and we had gone to MGM and taken all the pictures of everything that said MGM a week before they made it HS.
what characcter do you think you could play the best?
idratherbeinwdw
03-21-2009, 11:38 AM
Interesting Question! I think I'd be a good Mickey Mouse. I'm the right height and weight and I know so much about him.
How many times have you been to WDW?
DiZ NeE 08
03-21-2009, 12:21 PM
