We just booked an 8 night stay at BCV for August and we are staying in a studio. This is our first time staying here so I am not that familiar with the layout. Looking at the map that is posted in this site the Laundry seems to be in the hotel section of the resort. Is there another one in the DVC section? It seems kind of far and am hoping not to have to lug laundry through the resort.

Thanks!

On that note I am also wondering since the larger have a w/d in unit do we have to pay the 2.00 for a wash and dry in the hotel washers?

There is one, I think on the 4th floor of the DVC resort, but it has been a while and I forget. No the washer and dryers on DVC are free. You don't need coins for them.

When DH comes back I will ask him what floor the wash room is in. Or someone else who knows better can let you know. :D

The washers and dryers are indeed on the fourth floor. The one thing to note is that although they're free, the first time I used them, they had the coin slots and I couldn't figure out what to do ("Didn't they tell me they're free? So why are these coin slots here?) Finally, I just pushed the slots in like you would if you'd put coins in, only I didn't put any coins in. Voila! The machine started! It was indeed a National Lampoon "Vacation" moment as I stood staring at the coin slots trying to figure out what to do. I hear the machines are new since the last time I used them, so maybe that coin slot issue's been taken care of.

I had the same experience when we used DVC washers for the 1st time. We are going in 4 weeks so I am sure we will be doing some laundry (studio) and I will get a better look at them. The ones in AKL were still the same way (coin slots, but you just pushed it in with no money in it.)

In addition, in Jambo House, you have to take your room key with you to gain access to the free laundry facilities.

I had no idea the laundry was free--I would have thought for sure there would be a charge (isn't there always?).
