View Full Version : POP Being Rethemed?
Jim Hill has a fun article today claiming that Disney wants to re-theme Pop Century to feature the Disney characters more predominately.

Hard to argue with that. While the pop culture icons are fun, they don't hold much universal appeal. And Disney's bread-and-butter seems to be families with young kids. I'm not sure that my kids would even recognize a Big Wheel much less a record album or Rubik's Cube. (That's not to say that Disney needs to cater exclusively to 7 year olds, but when you've got 3000+ rooms at a hotel to rent, you gotta aim for mass appeal.)

Isn't that the theme for All Stars Movies?
I've heard about the rumor of the Legendary Years being made into family suites for quite a while, so maybe construction will be starting again soon.

I've been wondering if Disney will be closing an entire resort for a long period of time, like they did with POR shortly after 9/11. Sounds like this would be an ideal time to close Pop for a long rehab to retheme it. It makes sense to retheme it.
