Hi All
We just reserved a studio for next August. DH insisted that he needed a Boardwalk view and to see Illuminations. Besides requesting a higher floor, is there anything else to ask for? My kids will be 6 and 10. I heard about the long hallways and elevators are far. It will be our first stay there and I think I will have to study the map well in advance!!
Thanks for any tips.
Lyn

We had Boardwalk View once, and we found a shortcut to the Boardwalk. There was a stairway just a few doors down from our room.

Just a clarification. One door does indeed exit to the BW--but you can't get back in that way, it's locked from the outside. You can exit by pushing the bar on the door, but you'll find it locked if you try to go back that way.

Couple of suggestions--ask NOT to be in the Crest of the Waves area. The rooms are furthest from the elevator, and not really convenient to anything (except maybe jellyrolls if you go out the back way (not on the boardwalk side). Those rooms are also set back a ways, so your view of the boardwalk will be blocked by the rooms to your right that are not set back--they will stick out and obstruct your view. If you do get Crest of the waves be assured that all BW view rooms have a nice view of Epcot and illuminations. You'll also be able to see Wishes to your left if you're on your balcony when those fireworks are going off. The higher up the room the better for fireworks views and for the best view of spaceship earth.

If you look at the Boardwalk info on the main site of dvcnews you'll find a bunch of helpful tips. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask them here. Sorry I missed your post when you first wrote it, but as the trip is in August at least we're not too late! :cheerleader:
