Toy Story Mania opening dates?

Anyone remember the projected opening dates for Toy Story Mania? I\'ve completely forgotten...

They are still using the vague \"Summer 2008\" projection. I\'m sure it\'s a case of \"the sooner, the better\", but since it\'s mostly new technology for Disney, things could easily be pushed back. Even something as relatively straightforward as the recent Spaceship Earth rehab slipped by 2 months. The Laugh Floor also hit delays last year.

Several months ago there were completely unconfirmed rumors that Disney was running into unforseen delays. One of the reports indicated that the combination of moving ride system, 3D technology and the interactive game was causing a lot of motion sicknes. But that\'s probably something correctable during the testing phase--the technology isn\'t all that different than Spider-Man at USF.

Keep your ears open for reports of any sort of live guest testing having begun. I\'d say that\'s the next public checkpoint.

I\'m sure we have zero chance of getting a peek in March at WDW, but my fingers are crossed that the DL version will be open by August!

Yes, it is my name backward. Very original I know. :lol: Same screen name for the DIS as well.

DW and I, and now DS (15 months old at the end of this week) have been members since Feb 06. Got in with the first FF promotion so home is SSR.

This past July was our first trip as members. Stayed at SSR, Grandstand. Loved it. This trip will be VWL. We are taking my parents so it will be a 2-br lockoff for 8 nights. It will be their first trip ever to WDW so we are going to have a blast. We picked the lock-off since the 2nd bedroom will have one bed, giving us more room for the pack-n-play for DS. Mom and Dad will get the master br.

Our trips prior were courtesy of good friends who have points at OKW, BCV, and AKL.

Hey Matt!

My first screen name was Nyliram, but believe it or not some of my old friends actually called me that. I guess not that many people have names that are pronouncable backwards, LOL. I also thought it was pretty cool that I come from NY live on LI and the computer has RAM. But I don\'t think too many folks got that particular connection, LOL.

Your upcoming trip sounds fabulous! Hey what a turnabout, instead of your parents bringing the kids to WDW it\'s going to be the opposite! How exciting for you all. Please take lots of pictures and if you have time post them with here with a trip report. :cheshire:

Many people are surprised I am so into Disney considering my first trip was at 28 and never as a child. I know we will have a great time. Will definitely take a ton of pics. I am a little nuts with my digi camera. 6 days at Disneyland in 2005 netted over 1000 pics! :silly1:
