Treehouse Opening June 1

2 weeks ago, I got a phone call from my DVC guide, Judy Kaufman, asking me to cut the ribbon at the ceremony marking the reopening of the Treehouse Villas. That ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 1, and I will be the first one to move into a new treehouse, for 3 nights starting that night. :yahoo:

So, for those of you planning a trip after June 1, the treehouses will be possible. However, I have NO idea when they will start taking reservations. You're probably best off booking at your home resort for that time period and then switching your ressie once they start taking them.

I can't imagine Disney granting me a more magical wish.

It's too bad they are opening the treehouses on Monday the 1st instead of Sunday 5/31. As it is, we're planning to arrive on Sunday 6/7 and will almost certainly stay in a Treehouse.

Reservations are supposed to begin on February 8th for SSR owners, with non-owners being able to book two weeks later subject to the 7-month window.

DVC really hasn't said much at all publicly about the treehouses. I think they are trying to keep the focus on BLT as much as possible.

But both Guides and higher-ups are openly telling people that the Treehouses will cost the same as any other Two Bedroom villa at SSR.
