I heard somewhere that you can call Disney Dining from any pay phone at the MK without any money. Since I rarely have my cell phone with me, this would be perfect. Of course, I forgot the #. Does anyone know hoow to reach Disney Dining at the MK from a pay phone? I think I remember that you had to press *, then some single digit.

The quote below is from this page http://allears.net/din/reserv.htm:
You can also make an Advance Reservation at any WDW Resort Lobby Concierge desk, by dialing 55 from your room phone or press *88 from any WDW pay phone to be directly connected with WDW Dining.

Thanks so much, Mar. That's exactly the info I wanted. I just copied it now into my little notebook that I always bring to WDW.

Ouch! If I had a dollar for how many times a day I heard that exact phrase, I'd buy a lot more DVC points!
I'm a payphone tech, yes, you read that right. I am one of the last 6 Public Communication Technicians for a major telecommunications company in South Jersey. They are still out there, but an endangered species to be sure!

I must admit that I never did see any pay phones while I was at WDW. Although, come to think of it, I think I saw some in an alcove at the GF. However, I don't know if they were real or just for show. I chickened out on waiting until I got to the parks and called Disney Dining from my hotel room the night before. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get "night before" ADRs at Tusker House buffet lunch and GFC, both with a choice of times, by calling the night beforehand. And both resturants were excellent choices, so if anyone else doesn't make ADRs until the last minute, both those are great choices. Tusker House was very similar to Boma, and GFC has a great caesar salad with grilled chicken or shrimp (although the GFC recommendation is my own-I noticed the man at the next table also ordered it and left most of it, so I don't know if he liked it).
At the MK, there are some phones near the restrooms next to Peter Pan and across from Small World. I know there are others but can't picture them right now.
I tried recently and had no luck. I think I forgot the *!
