I posted this on Stitch's thread, but I thought it was interesting enough give it it's own thread as well.
I hadn't heard about this, sorry if it's old news to everyone else:

I think I'll celebrate the end of the Years of a Million Dreams promotion!!!! :yahoo: ....and 27 months...the article is being kind. It was already ramped up in DL in summer of 2005. That would be a full 3 years of a Year of a Million Dreams. New math? :confused24:

Go read the thread on the DIS boards regarding this new promotion. I couldn't get over the number of complainers about such a nice promotion. Yes, there are alot of people who will not be able to take advantage of the promo, but it is still something nice for those that get to, me being one of them.:yahoo:

I am sure I will go slogging over to the DIS to read at some point, but how can you NOT benefit from this unless you dont take the time to go to Guest Services.
At a minimum, you will receive some special fast passes on your big day. If you aren't an ap holder, you will receive a free day in the parks!
I do see that this release says that the birthday bucks that you can get are only good at Disneyland, but at this point that might just be a mistake and mean any Disney park. Heck, I would LOVE a free meal for my family or lots of "free" goodies because I treck down for my birthday!
To me - this is a lot more balanced and fair than the million dreams promotion where you have to be at the right place at the right time. This is something everyone who is still alive will be qualified for. If you can't go on your birthday, well - Disney didn't cause that to happen. The offer is there if you can take advantage of it.
It looks fun to me. :yahoo:

I jsut registered DD's birthday as a time when we will be there and hopefully 'celebrate' with a free day. We were planning on going in early June, but that started to look iffy, so many in fact we will be there next July.
What the heck, like LLL says, it's there to be taken advantage of.

Hmmm.... now about getting those fake ID's...:D
Maybe that's why you have to "register" your birthday on the web site? :confused24:

I am totally blown away by this promotion. I had planned over a year ago to spend my 50th birthday at the most magical place in the world, the Magic Kingdom. Then Disney announces this promotion, what better way to make my upcoming birthday even better.:yahoo:
