Here at AKV

We checked into our grand villa yesterday here at the AKV. It was ready at 9:00 am (sweet!) and spotless. I was thrilled to see the pool table in the pictures was not just a prop. This suite is simply awesome :yahoo:. We have 4 adults with kids aged 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. I think we need every bit of the 2300 square feet.


I will post more and answer any questions as time allows.

We will be in a Grand Villa in November. You can answer a question for me. According to the floorplan info sent by Disney, It looks like the Jambo Grand Villas offer a sleeper chair in the living room along with the pull out bed. Can you check and see if this is true?

Yes, there is a chair AND and sofa that pull out to beds. They are the new style and very comfortable. This unit easily sleeps 13 with the bedding provided with room for another dozen.

We will miss that chair as it worked out great for our 2 year old.

The room was tremendous. Everything with the room and resort was great. We just checked into the BWV GV. We were lucky again to get in the room at 10 am. The room is clean and in great shape.

I will post details about the rooms later. We are off to Germany for lunch. :biggulp:

Yes, I got to sleep in one of those chairs last week with my 4 yr. old. Yes, in the pull-out chair with her...lasted probably 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. Pretty comfy. I also slept on the couch (1 br) and I mean on -- too lazy to pull it out :eek: -- another night or two, and I can recommend that as well!

I made sure to take lots of photos of and off the balcony. I will send a link to these when I get them put up on Picasa. I also took some inside the room but the 360 tour on the DVC website does a better job. The AKV GV was just like it is shown with the exception of it feels roomier in real life.

Agreed, the DVC site has great room tours, but we can't steal their stuff. ;) Whereas you I can ask to pretty please let us post some of the GV shots on the main page for those resorts. :goodvibes:

Here are some of the raw pictures I took. I have yet to prune out the poor ones. I never did get great indoor pics of the AKV. I did not know they were of interest. There are plenty of the balcony views. The three 1/2 circle balconies at the AKV are all the GV.

You are living my dream vacation! Grand Villas in both AKL AND BWV!! I can't wait til December to stay in a 1-bedroom with a boardwalk view! Thanks for sharing your pictures - they are absolutely great!

I have a question tho - how many floors does the Grand Villa encompass? I see from the pics that someone is looking out of the top floor and there are two balconies below & I wondered if they were part of the Villa.
