The point changes for SSR treehouse were very significant. I thought the point total had to stay the same for the year and any changes had to be distributed in a rob peter to pay paul type of exchange?

My job has shown me there is a surprising about of people in this world still hard-wired into paper (and a surprising number who don't own any technology :confused24:) and if you mention the 'going green' theory they claim they recycle :headbrickwall:.

The total number of points for the entire resort can't change. However, the distribution for any given room and days can change.

Some of the printed materials I get from DVC are great, others not so much. I would love to be able to opt out of certain types of mailings. Point charts are useless to me and end up in the recycling because I get them online when I need them. I don't like to keep extra paper hanging around that I don't need. It would be nice if at dvcmember.com we could opt out of various types of mailings.

I have to say that the nice thing about the printed material is that when I am not sitting at my PC or have my phone around, I can still play with points :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Although the mailings are beautiful, the amount of money they spend on designing, printing, and mailing has to be exorbitant.

If they allowed us to opt-out, that could be a significant savings and maybe, just maybe, our dues wouldn't be so damned high.

I realize some people love hard copies and I'm cool with that, but for those of us who have embraced the 21st century, please let us opt out and save ourselves some money!

for some reason I thought there was an studio at OKW which was only 8 pts. - am I remembering that wrong?

The lowest studio I see in OKW is 10 which means that standard view studio's at the boardwalk have the lowest pt count along with the value studios at AK.

I agree. I mean I've already booked in 2013 using the DVCmember.com to look up the points chart. I'd love to save the environment as well as DVD a little bit of money by opting out.

Odd, considering the electronic age we're beging 'pushed' into others, that DVC doesn't have a 'green' or paperless option.

Valid point baker. I know many credit card and other companies that will actually charge you a fee to recieve a paper statement in the mail. Personally I don't like all the clutter of those statements anyway because I'm horrible at filing paper copies, my filing system involves a large stack of paper next to my computer.

I was looking at the 2013 pt charts for BLT and noticed that some rooms had gone up...I got curious so tried to compare the 2012 charts to the 2013 charts and found that in 2013 although a few rooms had gone up I did not find any rooms that went down in points...thus meaning the overall point system went up.....anyone else notice this with other resorts??? or am i just crazy:p

BLT added more standard view units and reduced MK view ones. The additional points that were used previously on those rooms had to go somewhere. Remember, it is total for the RESORT, so for a simple example if there used to be 20 std views for 15 points each (300 total) and 15 MK for 20 points (also 300 total) we have 35 rooms & 600 points. If they change it to 25 std @ 15 that is 375. If the remaining 10 MK rooms stayed 20 points, that is another 200. That means 25 points are unaccounted for. Therefore one or more rooms have to go up for the resort's total to stay the same!
